An international teleproject for English as a second language. Teletrips are collaboratory distance learning projects designed by teachers from various countries, in this case from Holland, Portugal and Italy, around a part of the curriculum that is thought to be mutually relevant. Leading idea of a teletrip is the combination of local research of pupils around a certain topic and exchange of results with partner schools using a foreign language and electronic mail. Foreign language teachers and informatics teachers are working together and help to improve the activities of their pupils, making them educationally relevant.
"The Image of the Other" is a letter writing activity. It will be used in English lessons together with the on-line "Pupil's Pages": a web-manual which offers hints and examples.
Students will write drafts of their letters working off-line. They will get an e-mail account with E-Pals (a monitored account). Plans with regard to the topics of the letters or the sequence in which they are dealt with may be adjusted. Interim and end-evaluations will be based upon language, content and frequency.
