Hunt For Country Capitals
Classe 1B

Summary of the game:
Each site chooses a current country capital anywhere in the world and develops 9 clues about that capital. All Clues and the capital chosen are sent to the organizer of the game. Each Monday for 3 weeks during the game, one set of 3 clues from each participating site will be posted on one email message to the KIDPROJ board and on the web site. During each week clues are posted, each participating site may ask ONE YES/NO question of each site playing the game. After the 3 weeks of clues, participating sites will have one week to try and guess the country capital each site has chosen. Only ONE guess is allowed. The week after the guesses are sent in , a tally is posted of all participating sites and a winner declared.

Skills used and benefits:
The primary objective for participants would be to use the game to teach students to use the WWW as a reference in conjunction with other reference materials. Basically, the game is a "how to find and access" information. Deductive and inductive reasoning skills must also be used in figuring out where to look for information based on clues given by other sites. An increased interest in and knowledge of geography and history is a secondary benefit of playing the game.
