Main goals of the cultural exchanges

Il
nostro Istituto vanta una lunga tradizione di scambi culturali.
Ebbero inizio nel lontano 1993 con la scuola inglese di Ipswich:
 Situated
in Suffolk county, in eastern England, at the lower crossing
point of the Orwell River. It has anarea of 16 square miles
(40 square km). It is 110 Km from London and has got about
120,000 inhabitants. Ipswich is one of England's oldest towns.
It was probably the first new town to be built by the Anglians
after their conquest of Britain in 600 A.D. Ipswich prospered
as a port for the export of East Anglian textiles from medieval
times to the 17th century. Today the town combines a rich
heritage with modern facilities. The surrounding countryside
offers a beautiful blend of open landscapes, picturesque villages,
broad estuaries and a long unspoiled coastline.

Nel
1998 il primo scambio con la Francia, con Brioude:
|
 Sous
préfecture de 8000 habitants. Altitude 432 m. Situé
en Auvergne, dans le département de la Haute-Loire.
Eglises romanes, châteaux et forteresses, moulins
et musées, Brioude est aussi fameuse pour ses dentelles,
le saumon de l'Allier (rivière à 2 Km. de
la ville) et la basilique St-Julien construite au XI et
XII siècles avec des pierres locales (grès
rouge, basalte, marbre), sans oublier ses fromages!... le
Saint-Nectaire, le bleu d'Auvergne, le Cantal, le Salers
et la fourme d'Ambert.

Nel
2000 il primo scambio con la Spagna, Palau Solita' i Plegamans,
in Catalunya, non lontano da Barcelona:
 Located
in Catalunya, Spain, 25 Km. from Barcelona and next to Caldes
de Montbui, the so called "primera vila termal de Catalunya",
Palau Solita' i Plegamans is a little town in the middle of
the Vallès Occidental. It covers an area of about 15
sq.Km.
Its
origins date back to the tenth century AD but there are still
remains of the Paleolithic and Neolithic civilizations. In
the beginning Palau de Plegamans was an agricultural village
(cattle, horses and mules) but starting from 1980, it became
an industrial town. New factories, houses and flats and new
social structures. Its population increased from the 952 inhabitants
in 1900, 10,000 in 1966 to the actual 13,000.
Among its monuments, the most important is Santa Maria de
Palau Solita', a romanesque church consecrated in 1122. There
is also a Castle, rebuilt from the original dated 1121. In
Palau de Plegamans' official emblem is represented an evergreen
oak, planted in 1698 and only recently cut down.
 Main
attractions are: Hostal Del Fum where you can see and travel
on any kind of train: from steam powered to electrical. Can
Cortès, a magnificent mansion where you can find a
library and a recreation centre for children and adults. A
Sport Pavillion for basketball, handball, skating etc. and
a Music School to play and learn piano, guitar, drums, trumpet
and more.
Public schools offer 2 nurseries, 3 primaries and a secondary:
the IES Ramon Casas i Carbò.

 Nel
2002 il primo scambio con Wattrelos, cittadina nei pressi
di Lille:
Situé dans la région Nord-Pas de Calais, près
de la Belgique. A voir l'église Saint Maclou, la fierté
de tous les Wattrelosiens; le Musée des Arts et Traditions
Populaires, installé dans une ancienne ferme flamande
agréablement fleurie, qui reconstitue fidèlement
la vie des générations passées; la Ferme
Pédagogique qui fait découvrir l'univers de
la campagne; l'étang de Wattrelos, paradis des pêcheurs
(carpes, gardons, tanches, brèmes) et le Parc du Lion,
40 ha d'espaces verts en centre ville où on peut trouver
un mini-golf, une piste de skate, des aires de jeux, des aires
de pique-nique et d'innombrables possibilités de promenades.
Les jeux traditionnels auxquels on peut assister dans le parc
sont: compétitions de bourles, javelots, tir à
l'arc, à la cible et à la perche.
